[Korean Culture & Language] Event Horizon
Hello, this is Uptempo!
An ‘event horizon’ is a theoretical boundary around a black hole beyond which no light or other radiation can escape. It refers to “a point of no return”.
Younha, a famous Korean musician, received an impeccable all-kill rating from Instiz’s iChart at 10:30 am KST on November 20 for her song ‘Event Horizon(사건의 지평선),’ which has soared back up the charts months after its initial release in March.
A song gets a certified all-kill when it tops the daily and Top 100 Melon charts, the daily and real-time Genie and Bugs charts, YouTube Music’s Top Songs chart, VIBE’s daily chart, and the real-time charts of FLO and iChart.
The following are some lyrics from ‘Event Horizon(사건의 지평선)’:
생각이 많은 건 말이야
Deep thinking
is something we should always do.
My top priority now is ‘us’
It looks like we have locked up the wind, under the excuse that the glass bottle is safe.
Do you remember how things were back then?
When we held hands,
There was more ‘trust’ than ‘flutter’
I showed a big smile, but I also felt like crying,
because fear often accompanies happiness (precious moments/things).
