Many of the newly coined words and terms are interesting to learn though! 법블레스유 is one of them. It is read “Bub Bless You,” and means “The law blesses you”. 법 means the law, and you know what bless you means.

This comment is used when someone is angry to the point where they want to punch someone in the face, but they hold back since physical force or power against someone is against the law. 

The meme below defines “법블레스유” as “You’d not be alive right now if the laws did not exist”.

Another popular neologism that is used when someone is holding back from saying something unpleasant, often in response to what someone else has done or said, is 할말하않. It is short for “할말은 많지만 하지 않겠다,” and it means “I’ve got a lot to say, but I won’t (usually because it’s not going to make any difference)”. 

For example, let’s say your friend asks for your advice on whom to(/not to) date, and you disapproves of a guy because he seems like a playboy. She comes back the next day and tells you that she went out with the guy anyway and finds out that he was married. You can roll your eyes and say “할많하않”. Here, it implies: “I’ve already told you so. I’m not going to say anymore since what I say doesn’t matter to you anyway”.


When someone makes you mad that you want to punch them in the face, but you don’t, you say “법블레스유”. When you have a lot to say but saying something wouldn’t help the situation, so you don’t, you say “할말하않”.
