According to Statista, one of the most popular online activities is the use of social media. More than 4.26 billion people used social media worldwide in 2021, and that number is expected to rise to approximately six billion by 2027. 


While many people still refer to YouTube as a video streaming service, it has not evolved into a full-fledged social network that is equally as popular as Facebook or Twitter.


‘좋댓구알’ and ‘많관부’ are some terms that Korean YouTubers almost exclusively use nowadays. 


‘좋댓구알’ is an abbreviation for ‘좋아요, 댓글, 구독, 알림설정.’

‘좋아요’ means ‘like’

‘댓글’ means ‘comment(s)’
‘구독’ means ‘subscribe’
‘알림설정’ means ‘turn notifications on’ or ‘click the bell icon for notifications’

‘많관부’ is directly translated to “Please give me/it a lot of attention.”
The closest cultural translation to this sentence would be ‘Thank you for your support. Please tune in.’
