[Korean Culture & Language] 뚝딱거리다

Hello, this is Uptempo Marketers!

뚝딱거리다 originally means to create a loud noise when banging hard on something, usually with a hammer.Ex) “밖에서 무엇을 만드는지. 계속 뚝딱거리는 소리가 난다”

“I’m not sure what they are making outside, but I keep hearing the loud banging noise”

Younger Koreans today use the term ‘뚝딱거리다’ to describe someone who acts awkwardly, whether it is due to shyness, a lack of social skills, or a lack of dance skills.

The word derived 뚝딱이 is a doll character that has been popular since the 90s.

The term is also used to describe awkward people in general.

Below YouTube video states that INFP, ENTJ, INTP, and INTJ types are the 뚝딱이s among all MBTI types.

Do you ever become a 뚝딱이? When do you become one?
